Romantic Love Poems are beautiful expressions of that deeper feeling, that idealistic, ever optimistic exultation called, romantic love.  I’ve decided to look up a couple of the more popular romantic love poems available at a site called; http://www.lovepoemsandquotes.com/

The first is a more religious themed one, but I’ve got more if it doesn’t suit.

I Asked God

I asked God for a flower, he gave me a bouquet
I asked God for a minute, he gave me a day
I asked God for true love, he gave me that too
I asked for an angel and he gave me you.

- John Raine –

This following romantic love poem is one man’s discourse on all the reasons why…

My Sweetheart

So often when I am embracing you,
It seems that you exist in this world
only because of me and I exist because of you.

It’s not easy to wander in this world
and not lose one’s way,
but the greatest happiness of all
is in giving joy to one’s beloved.

And if the king can have his throne,
and if the bird can have his Spring nest,
and God can have his heaven,
then I, my sweetheart, I can have you!

- Jonathan Townsend -

This last poem is one lover’s attempt to describe the sensations his love evokes.

Never Have I Fallen

Your lips speak soft sweetness
Your touch a cool caress
I am lost in your magic
My heart beats within your chest

I think of you each morning
And dream of you each night
I think of your arms being around me
And cannot express my delight

Never have I fallen
But I am quickly on my way
You hold a heart in your hands
That has never before been given away

- Rex A. Williams –

I enjoy this site in particular because the love poems featured are both from famous poets, and the submissions of lovers all over the world.  Click on over and check it out.
